Hydrostatic Bearings are characterized by virtually frictionless movement. The corresponding linear guides and rotary tables are free from stick-slip effects, and wear on the guides is practically non-existent. Gases (usually air) or liquids (usually oil) can be used as the support medium. Air-supported guides are ideal for cleanroom applications or high sliding speeds. When oil is used as the support medium, higher load capacities with the same size and better damping properties can be achieved.
Various designs are available, which can be customized at any time to meet specific requirements for installation space, load capacity, guide length/table diameter, drive type, measurement system, etc.
